DCF *may* start to take longer...
« on: July 02, 2008, 09:43:46 AM »
I can't confirm if this is really true or not, but as DH and I are heading back to the US this winter, we've been looking at DCF. He is also eligible for a J-1 visa and after a lot of research, we are going with that. BUT, in our research we were told that DCF takes 8-10 months as opposed to the 4-6 generally quoted. For a bit more on it, if you think it may affect you, I started a thread about it on DIA:

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Honestly, I am very concerned that when we need the process in 2011/12 it won't even exist anymore. We have already suffered under months of seperation once...and an terrified of it again. It is sad to hear though of the longer waiting times.
