It's absolutely ridiculous, and then she complains about being embarrassed. Well, I'd never heard of it until they trail came out!!

When someone betrays you you will go to ANY length to humiliate that person even if it means yourself.

I'm a bit on the fence about the publicity since there are kids involved, but I do think people should be named and shamed a bit more.  I'm only speaking of my own experiences/observations, but it really seems that if a woman who has been cheated on/betrayed actually opens up and lets it all out, she is automatically out for revenge and is a b*tch and vindictive, and the infidelity/betrayal gets totally glossed over and the woman is the target of gossip, and the man isn't really viewed as doing anything wrong.  It's like the woman's sin of opening her mouth outweighs anything the man did.

When someone betrays you you will go to ANY length to humiliate that person even if it means yourself.

I agree.  It may not necessarily be "right", but it's human nature.  I couldn't even imagine being in her shoes, finding out that my husband was having an affair with a TEENAGER moments before giving a public speech.  Something like that would have shattered my whole world, and I doubt my first thought would be to take the high road.

I don't really care much for Christie Brinkley or her divorce. Its just another celebrity divorce. I mean how much do we have to hear about?

You don't hear me calling you a bloody brit, so don't call me a yank!

Like anything else, we don't have to listen. I haven't heard anymore about her divorce other than it's happening and it's public. I tune everything else out. Anyone can.

I guess it's different personalities then. I've been betrayed and would rather not talk about it with others than let them know about it.

Personal experience aside on my part, but I understand this CB situation completely. It's not saying I would want my dirty laundry out in the open but I can certainly understand when someone would. Each personal situation is different.

I think it's really odd that any famous person would do this. I'm sure the defense will bring up some humiliating things about Christie in the next part of the trial. I just find it hard to understand how she would want this kind of exposure of her personal life.

I do understand the urge to want to shout it from the rooftops, but the mother in me would want to protect my kids from any unnecessary pain. Divorce is painful enough without such a circus. Maybe her husband is being a total selfish jerk and she was left with no choice but to expose him in this way ???. How sad for the children if that's the case.

ANYONE who cheats and humiliates their significant other is selfish. She's trying to hurt him like he did to her. Children involved makes this harder yes but I'm sure she's talked this through with them and explained the details. We don't know this full story as much as we'd like to think we do.

Oh, I agree whole heartedly that he's been selfish. He hurt his family very much by his actions. I also agree that we don't know the full story. I just find it odd that a famous person would choose this path. She learned of this affair 2 years ago, so I think that maybe he's made her life very difficult since then.
