Moving back to the UK. What area would you prefer?
« on: July 13, 2008, 05:57:42 PM »
This is to counter the US question.
I would go to Gloustershire or Wales.
I would live in the country. One problem with that is I would like to use public transportation. It can be done though.

I loved Scotland and the Cotswolds the most out of all the places I've been in the UK.
We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the earth. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.
Ronald Reagan

If I had a choice, I wouldn't go anywhere but rural coastal Pembs. Great public transport, too, btw.

I love Yorkshire, but if I were going to live in the countryside, I'd probably pick rural Derbyshire in the Peak District.  Public transport isn't bad in the Peaks, actually, but obviously it's not as plentiful as in city/town areas!

If we could live anywhere in the UK, I know that without a doubt we would both say Glasgow. I love the dichotomy of it being a really cosmopolitan city yet extremely relaxed and laid-back at the same time. Plus, you can't get a better curry anywhere else in the UK :D
I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

I'd do it the opposite way around, I'd live in Edinburgh again in a heartbeat

Lots of lovely places here to visit & go on holiday, but I've yet to find anywhere I'd want to live - but (you guessed it!) Yorkshire. :)

Not to say that I don't like Manchester because I do but if I had to choose someplace else, either Portsmouth (in the South) or Glasgow (in the North). I visited Glasgow last November and absolutely loved it. Friendly people and a beautiful city (my best friend and I stayed at a hotel across from the BBC buildings and the view was to die for).
