Heading West
« on: May 15, 2004, 04:05:27 PM »
.... West of England that is. :)

I'm currently living in North Carolina, but my wife and I are (hopefully) heading to the UK.  Hopefully I'll be able to pick up a few tips on what to do and hear of some of the pitfalls to avoid when relocating.

Hey turn left!  Welcome to UKY!  So where in the great West are you headed?  We will be in Devon in a short time!

Hope to see more of your posts!

Thanks for the welcome! :)

Rowan County, between Charlotte and Winston-Salem, which is the edge of the Piedmont, the land is hilly to the West and flat to the East.  It is beautiful, and mostly still quite rural.  Wherabouts are your friends?

Not sure yet; we have family in Gloucester, but it needn't be there.

I'm not sure of the exact city/town but I know its about 40 miles outside of Raleigh. :-[  Like I said, I've never been there.  I'd like to though, I've heard lots of nice things about NC.

Good luck with your move!  This site has been so valuable to me in my preparations to move to London...it's great to know that so many people have done it before you & been OKAY (plus cool to know that there are Americans you can seek out for friendship or need!)
