Cinnamon LIFE cereal.   I don't really eat cereal often, but I think I can get a Nestle Cinnamon one. Anyone think it would satisfy that craving?   It's more like Cinnamon Toast Crunch I think.

I'm loathe to path £4.50 a box, plus say £8-10 shipping to the Highlands from an American Candy shop for LIFE Cereal.
Aldi has cinnamon toast crunch in stock on the "american goods" promo

I’ve also seen the real deal at Sainsbury in the cereal aisle not the American aisle for about £3

Corn bread is hard to make! I'll never forget the time I tried (with help) when I was a kid and it looked and smelled delicious but was the worst texture ever and completely dry. So deceiving!

Did your husband/kids end up trying it?

I want some chicken and waffles!

I did find queso fresco fresh cheese at Lidl for their Iberico month.  I'm so excited!!

I made some homemade blue cheese dressing tonight and I have a nice salad packed for my lunch tomorrow. I picked up some peppered pastrami ends and pieces from Aldi, which actually remind me of softer beef jerky, so I'm putting that on my salad.

I'm starting this week with a freshly scrubbed refrigerator and a new stock of low carb food. I've got to get rid of this holiday/couch weight I put on these last 2 weeks!

Into week four of the VLC diet and I'm still hungry for just a good, plain cheese pizza.
The corner shop now has an "American Food" section that is primarily candy. They also have individually-wrapped brown sugar cinnamon pop-tarts.
{sigh}

I love a good bit of chicken and waffles! We bought a waffle iron from an expat who was moving for cheap and it works like a charm so we make belgian waffles and I buy the "buttermilk fried chicken steak" from sainsbury's fridge section to have with it and it does the job just fine for us :) But tell almost anybody else in this country that is what you're eating and they will look at you like you have ten heads!

My, how time flies....

DO NOT BE FOOLED.  It takes AWFUL.  Same with Froot Loops and Golden Grahams (though those are almost passable).  You NEED the artificial flavors and colors for the US cereals to be any good.

A friend of mine (British) is in Colorado right now and has volunteered to bring me some LIFE cereal back. She even messaged me to ask what the box looked like, etc.   So I am happy!
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

That is so lucky!! It's great when friends go on holiday and can help you out like that. :) I need to ask my husbands brother to bring me a few things when they visit in October.

An egg in the batter might help it hold shape?

I don't understand the chicken & waffles thing.  Waffles, in my mind, are covered in melted butter and maple syrup, but that doesn't go with fried chicken.  So what's on the waffles?

The only ones I've ever had (I'm a bad southerner!) was in Edinburgh.  Lol  And they had a really nice sweet chili sauce with them. It was a great combination.

Gravy I think? Like the type that goes on sausage and biscuits. I've never done the chicken and waffles thing either. Definitely not an upstate/WNY dish!
