Cadbury Roses (big tins)
« on: August 28, 2008, 11:49:40 AM »
Has anyone seen the big tins of Cadbury Roses that show up in the stores around this time? We usually get them for Halloween trick-or-treaters at Costco (long drive from south London). My son and his coworkers, student interns at the St. Ed's IT department, LOVE them. We always take 5-6 of the boxes home, but want to take the big tins this time. My husband is going to the States for a meeting 20 September and wants to take a bunch for the guys  :) One guys has sent money for his own "stash!" Clearly they love Cadbury chocolate. Also, as long as we're taking yummy chocolate, any other suggestions would be appreciated. Neither my husband nor I are chocoholics and don't know what is good and what is "to die for."
Thanks is advance for your help.
Also, to the healthy eaters out there worried about too much sugar, my son is 6' and 145# a bit of chocolate is not a health hazard to him or any of the other guys. They are all athletic types in addition to being CS students.

If you have the time or inclination.....The Cadbury Factory near Birmingham may have them.  I was able to buy an entire display size box of Creme Eggs at the factory store when I went a few years ago.  It was June, so not their "season".

The tour of the factory is pretty fun too!

Sounds like you need a few tins!
Cadbury direct has 4x800grams for £14 which at £3.50 seems pretty cheap :)

Although I just googled that so it could be completely a scam site!

The only thing I noticed some people might have a problem is it has a short expiration date on the tin August 2008 of course that wouldn't bother me lol.  ;)  ;D

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately I dithered about and when I went to order this morning the dreaded message  "product is no longer available" popped up :( I can buy a 1kg can for £10 - not quite the same as the original "deal." I'll keep checking the site just in case.
I too, think it will be October until they show up in Costco; perhaps Tesco will put them out early.
Again thanks for keeping an eye out for them!!

They were in Tesco (in Bradford) this morning - buy one / get one free I think.
