hi I am new to the site.. but have found a few q's very useful can someone please anwer my query as well
My husband and I have been in the UK for the past 2 1/2 yrs on work permit, me being the dependent, our work permit is about to expire in nov this year but we have made plans to travel to India end of october and would be coming back aroung 9th novemeber.
my question is since our work permit will be valid for only few days b4 expiry will the immigration ppl refuse us entry or will allow us to enter. as my husbands employer intends to extend the work permit or should we get the extension b4 goin gto india. plss help as our travel plans depend on it

I suppose because of the timing they may think you're overstaying here.  It may be helpful for a letter from your employer and it may also be good to put in the extension application.

 i thnk getting an extension is the best idea but v have only 4 weeks left b4 we leave for india and will the extension come b4 that is another issue

Yeah, but I think that as long you say that you've applied for an extension you'll  be okay?

But they can't apply for the extension before they go as the Home Office will have the passports.

You really shouldn't have booked the holiday, but I think the best thing to do is to get the employer to make the extension application as soon as you can (September maybe) then have this and a letter from the employer in hand when you come back from the trip and tell them you are going to apply that day.  Have a completed FLR (IED) with you if necessary.
