citizenship through marriage / ILR through work permit

I have sort of asked this question before but I'm being told different things by the people doing my work permit.

I am applying for ILR based on 5 years on a work permit in 2 weeks.

In normal circumstances, I could apply for citizenship one year from the date ILR is granted.

But I also married a Brit in May 2006.

Am I able to apply for citizenship based on the marriage immediatley once ILR is granted?
