Musician's visa
« on: May 25, 2004, 10:05:43 PM »
My name is Rick. I'm an American singer/songwriter living/working in Germany.  I'm very interested in coming into contact with American pro musicians who are liiving and or working in the UK.  I need advise on my situation and only you guys can give it to me, because you're presumably already there doing it!  Please help me out if you can by responding to this mail.  You'll have done your good deed for the day!
                 thanks, rick

Rick,

You'll probably need to provide a bit more info on your sitatution before anyone can offer you advice. How are you in Germany right now? Student visa, spousal visa, parents are from the EU??????

You can try posting your ad on craigslist London or UK-specific music magazines online. http://london.craigslist.org/ (There is an area for job postings "art/media/design"& "et cetera" and London music discussion forums.)

Good luck

Craigslist might be a better place...there are special visas for entertainers and "highly skilled migrants" and you need to talk to people who got their visa based on their career as a musician.  I'm a professional (classical) musician myself, and I have full working rights in the UK, but I got here because my partner is English, so I can't help you with musicians' visas.
