Trying to cash a US money order in the UK
« on: October 16, 2008, 07:17:41 PM »
My family recently sent me some money orders from the US, and I am having a really hard time finding anywhere that will cash them in for me. (I really wish they would have just used Western Union) Does anyone know the best place here in the UK to cash in a money order with a minimal amount of fees? Most of the places I have tried have no idea what a money order even is. If anyone has any experience with this, I would love to hear it!

The only luck I ever had was not in trying to cash them but to pay them into my current account.  Took about a month to clear and I had to pay a fee for it...

Ditto to the pp.  I had to deposit a money order and wait for it to clear.
