Quick Q. about traveling on EEA Family Permit
« on: May 28, 2004, 07:56:34 PM »
Heyhey everyone!

Great site, great vibes .....

Just had a quick Q. about travelling on a one way ticket to london with an EEA permit (My wife is an EU national ..we are planning to settle in the  UK ). Will customs Heathrow hassle me about it ? My wife and i  got good deals on one way tickets and would save quite a bit if we travelled this way as opposed to buying round trip tickets. I did call the Conuslate and they said if we were travelling to UK to settle ( which is what the permit allaws) it wont be a problem .

The EEA permit allaws for multiple entries so i reckon it must be ok..but i need to be sure so we dont have problems at Heathrow .

We do plan to settle in UK ( knock timber ) but i would need to return to the U.S. within 2-3 months to tie up loose ends . My wife will stay behind in the UK.
Your advice much appreciated.. as i would need to purchase these tickets soon, before they are sold out .

thanks heaps

I have the same question. My wife is a EEA national, I am not. Does she need to have a job? Can she just move to the UK and "take" me with her?

Thanks!
