Childrens picture books - new series

This looks really good - a four part series "which reveals the enchanting story of childhood reading. The first episode  begins with our very first books and the picture book heaven they create for under fives, exploring the magical interplay of words and pictures and how they begin to shape our childhood imagination. Featuring favourites from The Tale of Peter Rabbit to Charlie and Lola and Thomas the Tank Engine, it has interviews, readings and demonstrations of their art from writers and illustrators including Michael Rosen and Shirley Hughes.

I've taped the first episode but haven't watched it yet - each episode is repeated several times on BBC 4

I haven't heard about this but it looks interesting.  Thanks for letting me know!  I'll check it out. 

We DVR'ed this....everytime the advert came on the TV my almost 3 year old son would yell all the names of the books at us. So its a worthwhile programme.
