Chocolate Chip, of course, cut outs, and these cream cheese cookies my mom makes. They have orange rind in them and aren't too sweet.  Yum.

These are the ones http://www.christmas-cookies.com/recipes/recipe279.snowflakes.html

I don't add the cinnamon though. I don't know why.

Take a look at these links - I was DROOLING!:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/12-days-of-cookies/package/index.html (this has audio but it's the only way I could link the whole thing rather than individual recipes)

I can't wait until I can start baking... gotta get moved into the new house first, though!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Yum! I love December for the baking alone! ;D

I usually make speculaas, otherwise known as windmill cookies. It's a family tradition. This recipe is pretty much the same as the one passed down from my Opa, who was a baker. http://www.recipezaar.com/Speculaas-Dutch-cookies-39137

We also have a tradition of making these chewy/hard gingerbread looking cookies that taste of liqorice called tai tai. The deal is that you have to make them to look like members of your family, (incorporating unfortunate person habits, like nose picking, obligatory) and each person has his or her own to graw on over the holiday season. Unfortunately I've yet to meet anyone not related to me that likes the taste! Maybe this will be the year DH learns to appreciate it. :P
