Visa customer services - Telephone and email enquiries
« on: December 09, 2008, 08:39:06 PM »
They are running a survey on telephone and email enquiries, for us this means World Bridge.  Among the questions is an interesting teaser:  Would you like to be notified via SMS about the status of your application?

It's important to remember that even if you are already here, you can still help others by getting your two cents in.  Can we please deliver up a strong showing from UKY on this survey?

http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/aboutus/phoneandemailsurvey

If you don't know what category to put, use your last category when you called Worldbridge.  Otherwise use etc.

Also...

They haven't gotten around to couriers yet, but they will.  So my appeal for personal narratives in this thread http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=49255.0 is still very much appropriate.

Thanks everybody!

Many thanks.  Probably some of the people who are already here and don't worry about Worldbridge and their flakey emails don't come into the visa board anymore (can't really blame them).  If anyone spots somebody in another UKY board, please ask them to drop by here and read this announcement.

Let's try for a strong turnout!

Flakey emails wasn't the issue for me.  I never got an answer back at all.  I had the warning to not send more than one email on the same subject or it would delay the response.  It's been about 5 months now.  Wonder if I post again if my answer may get delayed even longer??   ::)

Sorry to sound dense, but remind me which service Worldbridge was?  Is it one of the phone in lines for advice on visa issues?  in the UK or US?  I'm not sure if it's one I've had experience with or not in order to be able to comment, but want to help however I can.

In the US, the people who manage "stuff" for the VSD is WorldBridge.  It used to be Abtran, but they got booted.  So depending on when you came over, you may have dealt with either.

The Immigration Enquiry Bureau, which is the call centre for in country enquiries, hasn't been outsourced (yet).

That's what I thought.  Thanks.  I didn't use either service in the States because I had read enough on UKY to not trust them a bit!

Then that's what you would put in the comments section.  Exactly what you wrote above.   :D

Also, are they asking the right questions on this survey?

I am in the UK now but I went ahead and completed this, since my Visa was originally printed incorrectly (KOL Stamp was left off) it was a pain in the rump trying to get into contact with somebody and Worldbridge was no help at all.  Glad to do my part to try to improve on the system for future applicants.

Thanks.  We're really hoping to see a strong UKY turnout in this survey.  Each little bit helps!

I'll try again later, but when I tried twice now to put in my survey, it came back saying it appeared my session had expired.  I wasn't on there for very long at all, so I think there may be some kind of glitch in the system.
