Boston, we have experience with Royal Hants hospital in Winchester through our 8 year old.  We have not had any problems there at all!  She has been inpatient, through the out of hours clinic, her pediatrician is based there, as was her ophthalmologist.  We go to Southampton General to see her other specialists. 
My in-laws have received very good care there as well.

I've lived in 2 places: Mansfield  (voted 7th worst city to live in the UK) and West Bridgford  (16th best place to live in the UK).  Hated Mansfield.  West Bridgford is very nice.
there's some website that shows a list of the top 20 best and worst places to live in the UK.
