Found: American Saltine style crackers!
« on: April 23, 2002, 01:04:25 PM »
Sometimes when looking around the shops I find new introductions of American products that were not here before, I was thrilled to find Bisquick, and Betty Crocker cake mixes, etc.

Now I've found another, and I'm thrilled to be able to have the proper crackers with my tomato soup and chilli. It wasn't with the other crackers, it was in the bread and bakery section (Co-op Food Centre).

That's 225g, can't remember the price, but will check when I'm there today.  :)

Oh sure.  Now they come out with them!  :(  We used to have to go to Costco (which btw for those of you who don't know have lots of american products) to buy our Saltine's and half the time they were out!  ::)

Well spotted though Leah!  ;D

You can also get these crackers in the London Tescos along with Pedridged Farm Oatmeal Raisn cookies.

i'm not sure what the picture was of in the original post...but i found a saltine cracker equivalent by accident.

i bought Doriano crackers (they are italian) at Sainsbury's for 89p...or 59p...something along those lines.  i was going to grab a packet of jacob's cream crackers, then i saw these lovely italian beauties.  I thought i'd give them a go...and low and behold...they are just like proper saltines!!

Is american style crackers the name of the food product?

It was in Kwik-Save, but I don't know if they still carry them. I've found Sunshine Krispy saltines in an Asian shop before, but they've not had them in ages. I did ask if they could get them again, but I haven't been to that shop in awhile.
