Fiance/Spousal Visa and Financial info...
« on: June 08, 2004, 07:26:27 PM »
Do they ask any financial info on Fiance or Spousal Visa apps with regard to credit history, debt, etc??

Can this affect the outcome of your application??

Well, on the website it says to bring financial info with you, such as bank statements pay stubs etc.  We had it all ready, so they didn't have to ask.  Never give them info outright, let them ask for it.  Just an FYI.  I think they just want to know that the UK spouse has a job and  the other spouse will not have to live off public funds (Though we can't anyway, so I don't know)

I was never asked and they didn't do any kind of credit check on me.  I brought what they asked for and that was it.

They did no credit history/check (thank goodness to be honest!)..we simply supplied a letter from my DF's employer with his salary amount...and a letter from mine with my amount even though I wont be working there I figured it showed "potential" earnings. I will be honest I was nervous about the financial end, neither my DF nor I have high paying jobs and have very little saved, it wasn't an issue at all.
