Homeschooling in the UK??

Hello all,
I had a question about homeschooling.Is that a common thing in the UK? We homeschool here and we were curious if that is an accepted form of education there as well. Do you know if there are any groups associated with that?

Education is compulsory, however school attendance is not - i.e homeschooling is permitted. How 'accepted' it is I couldn't say, but these sites may give you an idea:
