Driving - Just a quickie Question
« on: January 31, 2009, 12:56:02 AM »
I know a US citizen can drive here in the UK for a year.  Does that date start when they land or is it from the date the FLR is granted??

yep, Jim's right.  Which is unfortunate for me- I was on a student visa during my first year when I didn't know I was going to be staying here and so didn't bother to get my UK license, by the time it became something on my radar screen I had already passed my year mark so it's L plates for me :P
Now a triple citizen!

Student visa 9/06-->Int'l Grad Scheme 1/08-->FLR(M) 7/08-->ILR 6/10-->British citizenship 12/12

Thanks guys....bummer  :(

It annoys me quite a bit that you have to take another test.  My brothers South African wife just had to exchange hers...and she is scary on the roads!!  :o :o :o

My husband is a much safer driver.  He just need to learn stick, thats all.
