Anyone know a good place to stay???
« on: June 14, 2004, 02:35:27 PM »
Hi All!!!
Well our visa interview has been grated, June 28th to be exact, and my question is, where is a good, affordable place to stay near the US embassy in London, we will be coming in from Nottingham, neither one of us has been to London before, except to Heathrow, and that dosent count....we need to make our arrangement ASAP, but are clueless...Hopefully someone with some knowledge of London could fill us poor bumpkins in...lol...more than likely we will be taking the train in, St Pancras Station ,I believe...
Thanks,
Jeannine :D

I'm not sure where it is in relation to the Embassy, but I would suggest the Travel Inn in Camden.  It's right across from Euston and King's Cross, so transport would be pretty easy.   :)

Theres a hotel right across the street from the medical clinic where the physicals are done called the BRYANSTON COURT HOTEL. They have a posher sister hotel which is quite close as well. Theres also the Marble Arch Inn. For a bit of a nicer time in London you can stay at the The Grosvenor House Hotel or London Marriott Hotel: Grosvenor Square. The first two are a 10 minute or so walk to the Embassy. The second two are more like a 3 - 5 minute walk.

I'd try lastminute.com for a good cheap London hotel.  You can search by post code and addresses so if you just type in the Embassy post code, you'll get loads of deals around there pop up.  The nice thing about London is as long as you're near a tube station, you'll be fine!  :)
