Brief note from University regarding student visa
« on: February 25, 2009, 01:36:23 PM »
Just as an FYI to other potential students, below is part of an e-mail I just received from my uni (London College of Communication, University of the Arts London). I've experienced numerous delays in communication of acceptance letter(s), as well as a few requests for additional pieces of information for their end of the process (nothing sketchy).

Thank you to all of you that have already sent your acceptance form.

The UK Immigration process is changing to a new system.  Universities have been advised NOT to send letters intended for student VISA applications until the new system has been agreed in March.

If you have already accepted your place for you course or the Pre-Sessional Academic English Programme we will send your confirmation letter that can be used to apply for a student VISA after 31st March 2009.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your representative office or the International Office.

You can find information regarding the UK Immigration changes on the UKCISA website.

It is indeed all changing at the end of March! This UKBA webpage gives a lot more detail about the new Tier 4.
