I just wanted to update that my Granny is not only out of the ICU, but she's out of the hospital entirely! They transferred her to the skilled nursing unit of her retirement village. It's a pretty cool place - my grandparents have a flat there, but the skilled nursing unit is also on site, as are restaurants and lots of activity places like a woodshop for the men, and most importantly - all my Granny's friends are right there, and Pop can stay in their flat and just walk over to see her now. She's got a bunch of rehab ahead of her, and she'll have to let her hair grow back after the brain surgery, but my mom saw her this weekend and said she's in good spirits.

That's awesome, SP! Chuffed to bits for you and your granny!  :)

This whole situation really pissed me off big time!

In the shop a couple of girls came in, one of them went back to get tattooed. The other one asked if she can go back with her. I politley explained to her that nobody can go into the room unless they are being tattooed. She got an attitude and did the whole "well why not" thing, but she shut up once she realised I wasnt going to change my answer.
Well a little while later, I look up at her and shes laying down, lounging all over the bench. I said to her, again politley, "I'm sorry but you're going to have to sit up", she replied with an arritated tone "I will situp if someone comes in", I said "No, sit up now" and gave some health and safety excuse. she said "Im not going to fall off or anything!" I again tell her to sit up. she then replied with a sigh and raised her tone "JUST GIVE ME 5 MINUTES!!", at this point, the politness in me went away real quick and told her she will sit her *bleep*ing ass up now or else.

What the hell is wrong with people! If you're that *bleep*ing tired,go the hell home and go to bed, dont lounge all over the furniture in a tattoo shop,..its a tattoo shop not a doss house!! I shouldnt have to repeat myself 3 damn times to tell u to sit the hell up!

A man in our village committed suicide a few days ago and we just passed all of the villagers heading into the church, and DH pointed out the man's wife and two small children as we drove past them.  :\\\'( What a tragedy. I feel so sorry for them.

So sad especially for someone to do that when they've got a family.

The whole story around it is even more depressing than that. Basically, the man committed suicide while he was drunk because he was extrememly depressed and traumatized over witnessing his best friend's gruesome death during a tragic accident at their workplace the week before, and he felt somehow partially responsible for being unable to save his friend.

The saddest part is that the man's wife's sister just committed suicide a few years ago and she adopted her neice, who is the one who found her uncle's body, just a few years after finding her mother's body. I can't imagine what all of them are going through. It's so terribly sad that I can't stop thinking about how awful that must be for them and I've never even met any of them. Poor family.  :\\\'(

Oh no! I know how that can go. Sending her good vibes.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
