Difference between ILE & ILR?
« on: April 09, 2009, 10:33:33 PM »
I've been slowly wrapping my head round' the information I've been given so far...
and I think I understand everything barring one question!

What's the difference between the ILE and ILR?

Thanks,

Jessica

ILE- Indefinate Leave to Enter (applied outside of the UK)
ILR- Indefinate Leave to Remain (applied within the UK)

In practical purposes there is now difference in how they work for the immigrant.

There are some minor subtleties between leave to enter and leave to remain, but few people will ever encounter them.
WARNING My thoughts and comments are entirely my own.  Especially when it comes to immigration and tax advice, I am not a professional.  My advice is to seek out professional advice.  Your mileage may vary!
