Just a few lines to introduce myself.I'm a brit who spends a lot of time in the US and have friends and family over there.I'm best described as old fat and ugly but apart from that I think I'm a nice chap.

Now I have a little more time, perhaps I should add a few more details.
I live north end of Brum, married, the bride is 20 years my junior which keeps me on my toes.Retired from the rat race in my mid 50s,decided to live a life travelling the world and taking it easy, soon got bored with that and we then took to fostering children with special needs. As we had done respite care in this field for many years it was not really much of a change. Thanks for the welcomes everyone, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Dave

Hi Daver!!!  I can't say enough about how great you are to foster children!

Hello again,I have to confess that as far as the  fostering goes, all credit should go to the bride as she does most of the work.My main problem is,all my life I wanted to be a babe magnet, but it turns out I am a kid magnet, even though I keep telling them that I don't like them they wont leave me alone LOL.
We have one lad  with cerebral palsey permanently who we were supposed to have for 12 weeks but its been more than a year now,and a sweet girl also with CP every other weekend who has been coming since she was 2 and she's now 15.Add to this 2 lovely half English half French kiddies, and 1 half English half German kiddie we look after while their parents work and I consider myself fortunate we don't see our grandkids too often.
Seriously,I would ask anyone interested in fostering special needs kids to get in touch with their local authorities, its very rewarding.
