Sometimes feel like my boy and I are living groundhog day! But we keep it interesting by sending each other news stories of the day (I do CNN and AOL and all US sites, he does BBC, Sky, Times)...then send them along with our own funny hyperlinks and comments.

Also...get involved on youtube...all of the great comedies are on there, our recent faves being Peep Show episodes and Newswipe and Screenwipe stuff, even old music videos from the 80s and 90s (always good for a laugh!). We send each other stuff back and forth to teach one another more about America and England. Endless fun! Then we'll send each other our own comments, which always end up in laughs, and will certainly help conjure up some great stories to share...

It's funny... After writing this post, I had a great day talking to Vincent. :P We played pool on Yahoo, which we used to do all the time back when we were just friends... And it's been a nice stress-free day, not really talking about immigration at all. What a nice change...

Yes, I know what you mean about not feeling like you have anything to talk about. It's awkward and I start babbling about stupid things just to fill the silence. I like the idea of watching shows at the same time. Definitely gives you something to talk about.

I definitely have this issue. In fact, we rarely Skype or talk on the phone because there's nothing with which to fill the silence. We watch a lot of TV and movies together, and read the same blogs and newspapers to discuss current events. I tell him every little detail about my friends and family and their issues, and he tells me about his. I was worried that we'd have nothing to talk about when I got there, after chatting online for a year and a half, but we never did and I don't think we ever will. :)

My bf and I have our days, where there is nothing to say- but we usually talk anyway.  Or just keep skype up, and talk when we feel like it.  My main annoyance is that even after a year of dating, living together for 8 months of that- I have the hardest time understanding his thick northern accent on the phone and skype.  In person it's no bigs, but the lack of lip reading (hehe) makes it a lot harder.  It gives me something to tease him about.  :)

Not being able to actually do things together makes it tough to talk as much as we do, but when we do hang out we have a heckuva time!  ;D

I like the idea of watching a show together, as that seems like a very 'normal couple' thing to do. I'm not really sure how to do that though.

We haven't had too many times so far where there wasn't anything to say, but then again we can spend 20 minutes just saying 'hello' and another 15 saying 'goodbye' :).
We are a nation that has a government -- not the other way around. And this makes us special among the nations of the earth. Our government has no power except that granted to it by the people. It is time to check and reverse the growth of government, which shows signs of having grown beyond the consent of the governed.

Easter candy is an adult thing here, judging from my DH's family. His mom sent us both a bag of little chocolate eggs, and he bought me (and her) a big one. He has sent me chocolate eggs every year on Easter. It's one of those holidays I always forget, because it's a kid thing in the States.

Oh, definitely - I'm in my mid-20's now and there's no way I'm giving up my Easter chocolate - each year my parents get us an Easter Egg, Cadbury's Creme Eggs and Cadbury's Mini Eggs and we make chocolate Easter nests... the youngest person in our family is 18! In fact, I don't know anyone who doesn't still get chocolate on Easter and all my friends are in their 20's and 30's. I had an amazing time with my friends on Easter Sunday last week - we had an Easter Egg hunt around the big 6-floor houseshare that two of them live in, consisting of really difficult clues (we're all graduate-level scientists/PhD students, lol) and little chocolate eggs hidden with each one. The winning team got a big chocolate egg :).

Surf The Channel is good... We usually use http://www.ovguide.com and search a specific movie or tv show, and it will come up with different sites (like surf the channel) that have it... Since a LOT of the videos are being taken down lately. Lame.

It's a nice way to try to make our relationship feel "normal."

Lol, I love that! We are still like that sometimes I guess. :P When I get all irritated because of the visa though, I don't have as much to say...

Doesn't help that we've been talking for 9 years. Almost every day. (every week when we were just friends). I think we're talked out! It's time to live together. ;)

Yeah, it's time to be able to just sit there with the person, and if it's silent, oh well. At least you're together, and there isn't a stupid headset or phone attached to you in order to talk :) I know I for one am tired of being so reliant on MSN, and if something happens to it I'm stuffed  >:(

The BF and I have been alternating back and forth with silly questions all day, like "What is my favorite flower?" And "What is my shoe size?"  It's been fun.  ;D
