When is a budget necessary? (spousal visa)
« on: April 29, 2009, 08:55:50 PM »
Must a budget always be inlcluded with a spousal visa application?  Or is this only when finances may appear tight?  My DH has a hefty savings account and salary enough to support both of us with the 95GBP left over... will they still be looking for a budget?

If your fiance is making a comfortable salary and has lots of savings, you'd probably be OK without one.  Though, really, if it were me, I'd include one.  It doesn't have to be extremely detailed, but it lays things out nicely for the ECO, and if it shows that you have £500 a week left over, then so much the better.

we included one, but our finances were close to borderline because we need 2 incomes to get to £95/week and I was on a job contract that was ending soon.  If you can meet the standard comfortably with just one income, I wouldn't worry (although, like historyenne, I probably would have included one even if our financial situation was golden....but I wouldn't have felt like the success of the application depended on it, if that makes sense.)
