Oprah's hawking for KFC?  Isn't that... weird?

FYI: The coupon must be printed by tonight, BUT you can use the coupon until May 19.

It's for their new grilled chicken... so I guess that's okay... maybe a bit healthier?

Their site keeps crashing and now they have a PDF up....BUT some stores aren't accepting the PDF print out, so be careful!

I know what you mean but it was part of a "hook up" show yesterday and it was her hook up to people in general. She did mention the calorie and fat content which seemed a lot better than if it was fried.

I'd have much rather had it somewhere else healthier... but all of those would be more expensive to give away I guess! 

I wonder how many would have jumped at a free meal of a salad?

The line around the drive thru at the KFC near my house was insane today. My mom said it was bad when she was on her way home from work at 430, it was bad when we went out around 6, and it was STILL busy at 9 when we came back!

Wow. On the news this morning, they spoke about Riots in an NYC store because the manager of that store told everyone with a coupon to leave and they weren't taking anymore for the day!

That seems fair. The coupon /is/ good until the 19th. No need to rush to use it that very moment.

I'd be surprised if she didn't- the "Oprah effect" is very well documented!

A friend of mine told me that KFC is no longer honouring the coupons because they are running out of grilled chicken, but I haven't found a website confirming this yet.

NEW YORK - KFC says that it will not be honoring coupons that people downloaded this week for free grilled chicken meals and instead will issue rain checks.

In a video message posted on the KFC Web site , President Roger Eaton says the company was overwhelmed by the demand. "We can't redeem your free coupons at this time. We expected an enormous response, but we never expected anything like this. Clearly America loves the taste of Kentucky Grilled Chicken."

Instead the company is asking people to visit their local KFC and fill out a rain check that will allow them to receive their free meal at a later time. Redemption periods will vary. Eaton says they will also throw in a free Pepsi.

Long lines were seen at KFC locations nationwide after Oprah Winfrey announced that the coupons could be redeemed for a free meal of grilled chicken, two sides and a biscuit.
