A good burrito is hard to come by...except in Islington!!

Since moving to the UK from America's left coast, I have really missed burritos the size of a football. Chipotle and QDoba were standbys in the US. How I've craved them.

However, my husband and I recently found a couple of delicious burrito places in Islington near the Angel tube stop on the Northern Line.

One place is Chilango's: www.chilango.co.uk

The other (and slightly better one, IMHO) is called Tortilla: http://www.tortilla.co.uk/

Both of these have locations within a block of each other near the Angle tube stop (Tortilla is right across the street). Both of them have set-ups exactly like Chipotle--where you pick your main (burrito, taco, salad) and then your bean type, meat type, salsas etc. Such good vegetarian burritos, too.

Anyone else found any good burrito joints?

I have to say, the burrito I had at Nineteen Ten was pretty bad. I was so excited when I noticed the set-up was just like Chipotle, but the meat and beans had very little flavor, and I found the whole thing a bit dry.
Perhaps it was just a bad day, but wouldn't risk eating there again.

Been dying to go up to Islington to try some of the places up there.

There is Chilango on Fleet Street, going away from Ludgate.  Also there is a burrito place at Exmouth Market

LOL! There might be one of those hanging around our house, too, thanks to all the big a$$ burritos! 

The real downfall of burrito places here, and even anything remotely Mexican, is the cheese.
Even the good places in Islington that I mentioned above seem to use white cheddar.

But according to Tortilla's website they use: "Grated Monterey Jack cheese and nothing else. No cheddar allowed! Vegetarian."  

Benito's Hat on Goodge Street also has Monterey Jack!1

I wasn't impressed with Nineteen Ten at all (but definitely was with the Westfield Mall!).  I went upon recommendations I saw here but I found the burrito I had to be somewhat bland.
