Thank you

Regardless of what happened, it does say at the HO Website overstay wont affect Spouse Visa Applicants. As well as other professionals who know my story have told me that also. Rules a rule and hopefully I will be ok.

Will let you know what happens...

You guys been great thank you again  :)

Hi,

I am in Reading, Pennsylvania. I don't have an account here. Only been here 2 months since coming back from UK. My family are with Fulton Bank. Don't know if they can do it for me?

Thanks for any help x  :)

I thought it was ok. Never harmed anyone. Don't matter like you said. I admit 100% to my overstay for 4 years.

Thank you  :)

I keep remembering Q's! You guys are very helpful!

Regarding this overstay, I will write a breif letter explaining situation but covering all points. Do I need to also send my refusal notice papers which were given to me at LHR Airport when I was refused entry in May 2009???

Thx for any replys  :)

Yes.  The application form will ask you if you have ever been refused entry to the UK, so you will need to supply those details.

My mom banks with Fulton. They've done it for her for free in the past.

You might want to take the account holder in with you, since I don't know if they'd do it for a non-account holder.

Hi,

I'm sorry I have quite a few threads regarding my Spouse Visa. I keep remembering things I need to ask, and think its better off having a new thread rather then confusing the other ones  :-\\\\ Sorry to anyone who finds this rather annoying/confusing.

I would like to know if anyone could kindly tell me where I can get a certified copy made of my husbands passport as he's the sponsor? Lawyer? They can charge alot! Anywhere else I can go to get this done? Or should I just send in the actual passport as he won't need it anyways.

Thanks for your help  :)

Sorry i didn't realise you wanted a certified copy made in the USA the link i sent isn't really valid then for you.

I have noooo idea how to write this apology letter regarding my Overstay... has anyone done this before....or have examples??

Basically, I know I need to include my apology, briefly state why the overstay happened thru those 4 years, ect. Also stating what Garry said previously... that during this time...

[1] I did not work
[2] I did not use the NHS or otherwise rely upon public funds
[3] I lived with your husband the whole time in a non-council residence.

All of which are true. I'm just lost on how to start this letter, how to put everything together, anything else I should mention?? This is a struggle. Never had any probs writing out letters before!  :-\\\\

Thanks for any help or examples maybe  ???

Can't you just turn each of those things into a sentence?

Quote
To whom it may concern:

My application includes an immigration rejection from May 2009.  This was due to the fact that I overstayed a visitor visa from ____ 2004 to ____ 2008.  I was given incorrect information about immigration laws, and did not realize that this application process was required to live in the United Kingdom.  I would like to state that during the time I was in the United Kingdom, I did not seek out employment or work at all.  I did not rely upon public funds for support, and lived with my husband during my entire stay.  I also did not use the NHS or other public services.  I hope this serves to clarify that item in my application.

Sincerely,
ilak

Hi,

I would like to add that when I arrived in UK recently in May this year, I returned to apply for my Spousal Visa. I had a return ticket only because the tickets work out cheaper this way  :P

Anyways, I wasnt aware this Spouse visa process could take up to 3 months. When I realized this I attempted to return home on my return ticket so that I could pick up some of my things, some documentation that was missing in regards to the visa application, and some personal items such as clothing, ect as I was going to be in USA for quite some time.

I had told the Immigration Officer this, but I can't blame him for being suspicious. If they weren't, so many people would get in and out no problem.

These were my honest intentions, but things didn't work out that way.

Just adding this so there's not confusion.... thanks :-)
