Hiya
« on: July 06, 2004, 05:22:19 AM »
Hi everyone,
I'm Kristi, 30 from California.  I'm moving to London on August 1 to attend uni for my MA in education.  I see a few familiar faces (some I know *cough* better than others  :) ) but it's nice to find another place to meet pond hoppers.

I'm a HS English teacher, taking a year leave but I can't see coming back to the US at this point.  Of course, I may change my mind after a few weeks of incessant rain.   ;D
Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poorhouse. The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the almshouse as brightly as from the rich man’s abode; the snow melts before its doors as early in the spring. Cultivate property like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things, whether clothes or friends. Turn the old; return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts…

Hiya
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by things you didn't do than by things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I am excited!  I'm ready to be gone and not look back.  My family will always be here so it'll always be home but still, I'm ready!

Thanks for the welcome..   ;D

Welcome Kristi!  I'm heading to London on July 23rd...I'll be working as a school counselor at the American School in London.  I've been working in the private school world in the US for many years & looking forward to my overseas posting...with potential to stay here for a good long while.  We'll see.  You'll definitely have to join us at some social gatherings!
