Must-See TV!

I was trying to add some tv series to my Blockbuster list to change things up, and was just wondering what great shows I may have missed out on. So, which tv series are your all-time favourites, both old and new?

If you haven't seen Friday Night Lights (the tv show, not the movie) - you should.  It's hands down my favourite show currently on telly. 

I was a huge fan of The West Wing and it's probably my favourite show ever.  Firefly is right up there, too.

Other current shows I love are Chuck, Castle, Doctor Who, Torchwood & Gossip Girl; classics include Buffy, Angel, Crossing Jordan, and the X-Files.

Really it depends on what you like!  The next thing I'm planning to mainline when I get a chance is How I Met Your Mother, which my friends all rave about.

We love Weeds, although I must say the current season is not doing it for me. But the first 4 are excellent.

Battlestar Galatica - even if you don't like scifi normally, this is fantastic.

I tried Curb Your Enthusiasm with DH but the humour was sort of lost on him and he didn't know who any of the guest stars were, which sort of made it less enjoyable for him, I think. I added The Sopranos to my list because DH never watched it and the first few seasons are so addictive! Also, I added Gavin & Stacey because I've only seen one episode, and Life on Mars because it looked interesting. I don't watch much tv, so I am trying to catch up on the stuff worth watching! I will look into Mad Men for sure! I've already missed the first few episodes of True Blood, so I will probably wait until its on DVD and watch it back to back.

I am seriously considering buying a TV and signing up for cable all because of Mad Men.

For those who loved The Wire, you guys try Sons of Anarchy? I really really like it!

For my favs: Big Love, Burn Notice, Deadwood, Dollhouse (if you like Sci Fi,) Eureka, House and Psych.

Mort, I agree....it is the best show. It's done so incredibly well....the sets, characters and the writing. Also, I love Jon Hamm, I can't get enough of him.
