DH & I watched this on Channel 4 the other night and it's been shown on the History Channel in the US as well.

This is how I remember 9/11 unfolding. Not the sanitised version that you saw in the days & years that followed. I found it difficult to watch but cathartic as well.

This show was excellent.  I work in television, and I was amazed at the professionalism of some of the news camera operators.  In particular the one who was down at WTC 7 after the first tower collapsed still framing shots in an aesthetically pleasing way, and the one who was standing still facing the oncoming cloud of debris when the second tower collapsed, and remained standing there as the cloud enveloped him/her.

Me too...when I turned on the TV it had JUST happened and I watched the 2nd plane hit the tower live, people jumping out of the windows, etc.  There was a lot of graphic horror that was edited out of the videos we see now.

I have been watching the memorial and think I have to stop...it's so moving.  It feels like yesterday.  :\\\'(

I'm with you, geeta. I don't think it will ever get any easier. I was so scared that day. I was taking my one month-old baby girl for her first check-up and watched the second plane hit on the TV in the doctor's office. You can imagine the thing that went through my mind wondering what I had brought this precious baby into...

I made a promise to myself to avoid any and all news footage of the event this year and now I went ahead and watched it anyway.

I never even got to see any most of this stuff until the anniversary coverage a year later cause I didn't get home that day until nearly 10pm.
