I think he's adorable and he comes across as very sincere in the program.

I enjoyed the show too. It was like a foodie version of Stephen Fry's show that was on last year. He just needed to not call people 'brother' so much, but other than that, he didn't annoy me too much! I think the one in Wyoming was my favorite.

Didn't watch the series, but will have a look for the repeats. I love his Ministry of Food cookbook - got it last year for Christmas and it really helped me learn a lot of the English basics, plus a few other nice dishes that have been in rotation for some time. I already planted the seed to DH that his new America cookbook would be a welcome gift this year.  :)

I thought that, too!

I enjoyed it more for the whole cultural aspect than the actual food, but I am going to try to do a vegetarian gumbo at some point when I have the motivation.  I thought the Native American one was a real eye-opener; I'd never even really thought much about Native food past blue corn.
