Are we eligible for free early learning benefits?
« on: October 04, 2009, 09:56:29 PM »
Hubs and I just got my daughter's tuition statement, and it was less than half of what we expected because they automatically applied the free early learning discount that all 3 and 4 year-old children are eligible to receive. (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Preschooldevelopmentandlearning/NurseriesPlaygroupsReceptionClasses/DG_10016103)

Are we allowed to take advantage of this? I really hope so - it's a great discount.

I think so, we got it with my son when he was in nursery, we got something like £516 per school term back. Now he is in big school and I think that money goes towards big school

I specifically asked my local council if I qualified because even though the nursery said so I wanted to make sure and they said yes, any child.  It is all based on age and birthday.  Enjoy the tuition break.

Yay! What a nice, random surprise. Gotta love this country.
