Awww...My very first English paycheque!
« on: July 27, 2004, 03:26:02 PM »
Sigh.  Today I am officially a card-carrying member of the tax-paying public.  I got my first little payslip (fingers crossed that the money actually finds its way into my brand spanking new bank account on Friday!).  It's a silly little thing, but I'm so proud!   ;D

For whomever might be interested, here's a link to a PAYE tax calculator.  It's really helpful for figuring out how much you're supposed to be bringing home each month.  For those who don't have their NIN yet, enter 474L as your tax code.  Otherwise, enter the tax code on your payslip.

Ooo, you'll have to frame that pay stub! Great going!
Married to Graham, we run our own open-source computer training company in beautiful Wiltshire out of our 1814 Georgian Regency home (a former lodging house and once featured in Antiques Roadshow)

Congratulations Lola! I agree with Lisa, frame that beauty!

Yippee, that is wonderful!  I will be following you next month!  However, I don't have my NIN yet, my interview is in September.  Thanks for the link it's fab!!!!

Of course I don't have a bank account yet, so the £££  will have to go into Richard's till I am added.
