Pension schemes?

I didn't know which forum I should use for this question. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about what happens to pension money if one returns to the USA after, say, 5 years. And, what are the implications of choosing the State pension scheme over one provided by my employer (aside fromt the fact that I pay less for the state scheme).

You can ask your company and UK government to send you your pension payout to the States.  Your payout is taxable by the US.  My dad currently gets a pension from his company and the UK goverment every month.
