Friday the 13th!!!!!

Just realized it was Friday the 13th.  Told hubby not to cross the path of any black cats.... then I remembered black cats are good luck here.  (Got one at our wedding.)

I grew up in Texas, and never heard that expression before I moved here. I guess they must say it somewhere else down South.

Here, they also say it's good luck if a bird craps on you! My friend from New Orleans told me that if a bird craps on you, they think it's a dead relative saying hello! 

It's bad luck to pass someone on the stairs! I found this out from a repair man that came to my house. I walked by him and he asked if I would come back up and let him go first. He was being totally serious too! I was like um...sure. It was really awkward! That is a new one for me. I have heard of more but can't think of them at the mo.

I don't think it's a southern thing, as my grandmother used to say it all the time.  However, she was from Chicago and moved to California when she was in her late teens so I have no clue where she picked it up.
