Portsmouth?

Well, it looks like I may move to Portsmouth, but do not know anything about the area. Can you suggest an area for a single professional to live based on the following:

1 Safe Area
2 Away from students
3 Quiet
4 Be around other single professionals in their 40s

I heard that Portsmouth is a high crime area....is this really true?

There are plenty of "suburbs" around Portsmouth. Port Solent, Whiteley,Hedge End...

I'm in Gosport I don't find Portsmouth to be any more unsafe then any other area of the country. Like any city anywhere in the world it's got its bad bits and its good bits
