Sick and Tired!!!
« on: November 29, 2009, 06:46:56 PM »
I'm in the VERY early stages of my pregnancy and I find myself exhausted all the time.  I don't remember being anywhere near this tired when I was pregnant with my daughter.  But that was 6 years ago so I probably had more energy in general.  I try to sleep as much as possible but I also find I have trouble sleeping (even though I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open).  I haven't really had any morning sickness yet...but I've had "funny" things going on with my tummy...starving one day, don't want to eat anything the next day, feeling sick after eating, etc.

Any other preggos want to be complain buddies with me?

I still have really bad nausea and fatigue (and all sorts of other things) -- and I'm 21 weeks! After 12 weeks I kept waiting and waiting for that blessed 2nd tri relief but it never came. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy my pregnancy, it's such a special time, but it's really hard to enjoy the specialness when I want to throw up or pass out all the time.

A friend of mine had no problems with her first child but is having terrible fatigue and sickness with her second now, it's just bad luck I guess. Hang in there!! Hopefully it will pass soon...

When I was pregnant with my daughter I think I practically slept through the first trimester! I was queasy all the time, but never threw up...it was my husbands citrus air freshener that really made me really queasy. Once I hit the 2nd tri the feeling did pass. Each person's pregnancy varies and it can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy for a person. My SIL was sick for the first 15 weeks with her daughter and then never had any with her son.

At 8 weeks now.  I had a rolling nausea a couple weeks ago, but that has since passed.  Now, I feel ok until about 3pm and then I get what I could only describe as "flu like" symptoms.  And this has been going on for weeks.  I am tired all the time as well. And starving!  Every 2 hours or so I feel like Im about to die of starvation if I dont eat.

I also keep finding smells around the house that bother me.

I found my first trimester kind of hard, I was tired a lot, and I put it down to being older than I was with my first, but once I hit my second, I was flying! I actually feel fantastic! I barely feel pregnant this time around!!! I say hold out until you hit 12-14 weeks and you will feel much better. Every pregnancy is different! I am 27 weeks now and want to finish work at 36, but I worry I will feel too good to finish in only 9 weks!

When I was pregnant with DD I was extremely tired in my first trimester, but also had trouble falling to sleep at night.  I got DH to get me a selection of calming bath bombs from Lush.  I literally sent him an email with a list to take into the store on his lunch break - they helped work a treat on particularly rough days!  After my first trimester though I was fine and no real excessive tiredness.

This time around though first trimester I wasn't phased, however now that I'm creeping into my third trimester and the past few weeks I've been excessively tired no matter how much sleep I get.  I just feel tired all the time.   :-\\\\  I totally hear ya on the hungry / starving days.  I can't seem to stand the sight, smell or taste of vegetables (particularly my MIL's cooked veg) at all this pregnancy.   :-X  Oh well, not long now.

So much for not being sick.  I was up at about 3:30am with "the sickness" [smiley=puke.gif]  and still feel like poo.  Head is killing me, belly hurts, hot flashes (no fever though)...tired as all get out.  I'm wondering if this is seriously something I ate as opposed to morning sickness (I hope it is because I hate morning sickness...especially if it is waking you up in the middle of the night!).  I'm too sick to even be snarky this morning...now THAT is bad!!

Awww, sorry everyone feels so crummy!!  For me, the 3rd tri has been harder than the 1st ever was.  I wasn't sick at all (sorry!!) in the 1st, but for the past couple weeks I've been totally exhausted and have my terribly moody/grumpy days.  Baby's definitely moving down, as every time I stand up, I get pains in my lower pelvis and the bladder being used as a pillow.  I still like being pregnant, don't get me wrong, but I guess all the pulling and weight and stuff is definitely getting to me!  I'd also kill for a decent night's sleep - it's not so much the getting up to pee, it's need to change positions like once an hour (and it being such an ordeal to do so!), I just wanna sleep on my tummy like I used to and not wake up once in my time in bed!

Someone put lead in my boobs today while I was napping...I can't even get up/down the steps without almost crying in pain...and that's with a reg bra, a sports bra, a tight tank top and a tee shirt on.   :\\\'(

Speaking of breasts... I was giving a lecture today when all of a sudden my nipples felt like they were being twisted by red hot pincers, it was agonising... I managed to keep myself from grabbing my breasts in front of everyone, although since it was a room full of guys they probably would have loved it  ;)

Teletabby, i get sick off the smell of cooked veg too! I thought I was going nuts, glad to hear i'm not the only one!

ROFL aww I know the feeling.

My hubby bought me a Snickers bar back from the shop today and I cried for 15 minutes...still don't know why...

I did the same yesterday, hubby went to Cybercandy here in Brighton and got me some Reeces Pieces and Barq's root beer.  I cried.

Had a bit of a scare yesterday with some spotting and cramping.  went for emergency scan this morning and everything went fine.  Strong heartbeat and the little bean even has a little human shape now... which caused me to burst into tears again... Im just glad it's ok.

I was really, really tired in the beginning of my pregnancy as well (up until about 6 weeks). That was soon swapped for nausea/vomitting.  Now, Im not really tired, but am still going to sleep around 8:30-9 every night because when im sleeping its the only time i can escape the nausea.  It will get better (or so Im told). Im about 9 weeks now, and although the nausea is still really bad, I've sort of gotten used to it.

Congratulations hun.  :)
