What do you buy for boring people?
« on: December 08, 2009, 11:25:03 AM »
So I've been elicited to help find Christmas gifts for two very boring people, one man and one woman

They have little to no interests, no friends, and don't like to go out or do much- The woman likes to clean her house and re-arrange the furniture in her house. But she hates clutter so knick knacks and things that are normally interesting are out.  She doesn't like dirt so houseplants are out. She decorates her house in beiges and browns and boring colours without much artwork.

The man does like to keep a very neat garden and bird watching and hill walking. But he's already got bird feeders and bird baths and tools, etc.  He doesn't like garden knick knacks or anything interesting like that.

They're people who like things in their place.   They're decent people, just not into much.

Basically these people are a complete opposite to me and everyone I know.  So I'm a bit stumped.  The gift cards/vouchers are out because that will get the person I'm helping hung, drawn and quartered.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Christmas jumpers?  ;D

What about magazine subscriptions? For the woman, House Beautiful or something like that, and some sort of wildlife or bird watching magazine for the man? Or for him, a nice book of different birds or gardening book? Do you know if either of them like to read or what sort of movies they like or anything like that?

There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing

Man - Nice Gardening gloves? Or those labels that you can label seedlings with? Nicely coloured flower pots. One of those cushions to kneel on whilst gardening, pocket binoculars, a mac that fits in your pocket, a compass, a weatherproof umbrella.

Woman - A cookie Jar? A boring (clear maybe) Vase?

Thanks, great ideas, I will feed them back- :-*

Keep 'em coming!

Unfortunately Christmas ornaments aren't going to work for this person, as the two people he's trying to buy for are his parents and they wouldn't appreciate it.  In this case, its not just the thought, but the intent as well  :-\\\\

Everyone has to eat! Why not find out what kind of food they like and get a voucher for the restaurant or pub? Seeing as how boring they are they probably don't treat them selves for a night out to often. That or make a nice gift basket with all their fave snack, scented candles, homemade cookies, etc... other then that dunno!  :-\\\\ Good luck!
