That's not exactly what I meant. I meant that for someone with F-cup boobs, jumping rope is not good. And not much fun either!

LOL oh!!! opps! :-[

, I think you should consider why you want to lose weight.

I'm just not happy with my body. I get worried that I'm overweight

I'm sure you don't need to be told that eating nothing but candy all day is hardly a healthy diet.

I dont eat it all day. I eat just one bag of roundtrees and spread it out during the day

But you know logically that you're not overweight, right? Have you looked at healthy weight/height charts online?

Reading a bit about nutrition might help. What about having a light breakfast of yoghurt and/or fruit, and then a salad for lunch? Both are low in calories and fat but will be much better for you than sweets.

The FSA has a great healthy living webpage with a BMI calculator. I, too, was a concerned when I saw the ticker as well and especially to hear that you have a small child as well. As moms we keep in mind what kind of example we're setting for our children. Your goal BMI is in the 'Underweight' category...have a look: http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/healthydiet/healthyweight/bmicalculator/

Yeah, your BMI was right in the middle of healthy before you started losing weight (looking at your ticker). Where you are right now weight-wise, you're very close to being underweight and your goal (17.2) is definitely underweight (18.5 or less is classed as underweight). I weigh 8 stone as well, but I am only 5'2", which makes my BMI 20.5. To get to a BMI of 17.2, I would have to lose another 1st 4 lbs (to get to 6st 10lbs), which I haven't weighed since I was 12 years old!

I'm generally happy with my weight at the moment (although my thighs could do with being a little thinner :P). The lowest I've been in the last 10 years is 7st 9lbs (BMI 19.6), when I was ill at the beginning of the year, which I was happy with at the time, but after watching Supersize vs. Superskinny on TV, I realised how important it was to eat heathily and so I started eating more and put back on the 5 lbs I'd lost. A few weeks later, my mum commented that I was too thin at the beginning of the year, so I'm glad I put the weight back on.

I went to the doctor back in October because I was feeling tired and didn't have much energy (thought I might be anaemic), but tests showed everything was normal and the doctor suggested I just needed more exercise. Since then, I've been trying to go swimming more (only manage it once or twice a week though) and I've been doing stomach crunches, lunges, squats and arm exercises every night. I've noticed a slight difference tone-wise from the exercises (my stomach is much flatter), although my weight hasn't changed in the last few months.

I have looked at them, yes. But I still think I'm a bit overweight which is why I am aiming towards 100lbs ,(bmi 17.2). I think I will be satisfied with my body then. Hopefully i will get to my goal by next month!

Ah-Loom-In-Num are you working with your GP or a dietician to lose this weight?  If all you're eating is one meal a day plus candy, you are NOT losing "fat" or not only fat, you are also wasting away your muscles and possibly damaging your internal organs.

We are the same height, and though I would like to lost, maybe, ten pounds, that would still put me 30 lbs heavier than your goal weight, and I'm not fat.  I'm mostly muscle, true, but I worry that you are more interested in the weight goal than a healthy weight. I'll be honest, at one point (after a horrible, horrible, horrible break-up) I weighed 115 and everyone told me I looked gaunt and tired all the time.

Your body is your own, and I am not a doctor, but I worry about such a low weight goal.  Listen to your husband and those around you, and at least get a check up to make sure that you're not damaging your body with your diet.

Ironically, one of the reasons I'm NOT trying to hard to lose the ten pounds is that my DH *likes* my, ahem, fuller boobs and has specifically requested that I *keep* them. As that is the first place I tend to lose weight, I've changed my focus to strengthening my body (lots of pilates and horseback riding) instead of losing weight. Good luck, please stay healthy.

I guess it all depends on you're body shape but 5'5" 100lbs sounds a little sickly to me.  My sister was REALLY skinny and she was about 5'4" 105....you could count every rib in her chest AND back...it was not attractive at all.  In high school I was 5'4" 115lbs and I was constantly trying to gain weight because I got picked on for looking like a starving Ethiopian.  I blew up over the past few years but I lost down to 150lbs and I had friends and family starting to tell me to stop losing weight because I was starting to look sick.  Everybody carries their weight differently (I've been told I "look" around 120lbs with a big check - so apparently that is supposed to count for 30lbs of my weight....lol) but your goals might be a little unrealistic.

Have you tried looking at pictures of your body as opposed to looking in the mirror?  Mirrors can be very deceiving.  I used to look at myself in a mirror and think I looked soooo fat...then I'd look at a picture taken of me the same exact day and think "Wow...I look really slim."  It can give you a different view of yourself.

Also, think about famous people and compare their height/weight to your own to get an idea of what your body looks similar too.  As I mentioned, everyone carries their weight differently but it can give you a rough idea.  Madonna is supposedly 5'4" 100lbs...is that the look you're going for?

Madonna has muscle though.  Of course, if I had time to train all day with my own dietician and personal trainer I could probably do it too.

As long as someone held me back from the cookies.  I guess I would need to pay for a person to do that as well.

However, as someone who is 5'4'' I seriously doubt Madonna weighs 100 pounds.

I think this is one the reasons people, both women and men, feel that their weight sounds wrong, if you know what I mean.  People lie and say oh, I only weigh 100 or whatever, but in reality weigh 115.  So when someone says their real weight, say 130 or whatever, it sounds like a lot more than it really should.

Proper eating habits aside...if you want your abdomen to look smoother you can't be afraid to gain muscle. The muscle will help to smooth out any cellulite (which won't go away). I highly recommend pilates. Your body will look lean, not muscle-y and it truly works. I took a class at my gym (1 day per week) and my DH could notice the difference in my abs after just a month or so.

I'm 5'4", and I weighed 101lbs all the way through high school; I could not put on weight for the life of me.  I almost had to get a wavier to get into the Air Force because I was too thin; where the extra 2 pound came from (had to be 103lbs at 5'4"), I don't know, but I'm IMMENSELY grateful.  After the Basic Training bulking up (and evening out the first month or two of technical training), I was at 114lbs for the six years of my military career.  Found my Brit right towards the end of that, gained a few happiness pounds (up to 122lbs), and that's where I stayed until getting myself full of baby.... we'll not mention my weight with nine months of baby added in, though.  ;D

-Anyways-  I'm going to say that getting down that low, weight-wise... not a good idea.  It opens a person up to a LOT of abuse; I had people going and telling my sergeants that I was anorexic, bullemic, etc because I was so thin (and really could NOT do a damned thing about it).  I had friends, strangers, the lot coming up to me and saying extremely abusive things because I obviously HAD to be doing crack or something, and needed a right telling off.

But really... it IS your call, just be cognizant of such.  You're probably just fine the way you are, and it's sweet to see people being concerned and the like. :)

It didn't help that in boot you could only eat in the dining hall.  We had some seriously skinny girls who just couldn't get it all in.

I graduated from the ever popular 319th.  HA!

Ugh hah, yeah... I didn't manage to eat that first half-week AT all; I was too nauseous and freaked out trying to adjust.  I went through the 321st, myself. *grins*  It was the only time in my life I willingly and happily ate pancakes with syrup - I needed the sugar baaad to cope with post workout energy needs.  But seriously, hated those girls that would just chug their water down asap so you couldn't eat 'cause they were dieting or whatever. ><

I know I said that I wouldn't post anymore, but I have to respond to this.

There is a huge difference between being naturally underweight and eating and eating and not being able to gain weight, because of a naturally fast metabolism - that was me until I reached my late 30s - and intentionally trying to drop down to a weight that is unhealthy by basically starving yourself, which is what the OP is doing.

The OP is living on one meal a day plus candy. She is not getting the nutrients she needs to function normally. As has been said earlier, she is risking damaging her internal organs. She could also have vitamin deficiencies. Candy may make you feel full, but it has little nutritional value.

Very different than just having a speedy metabolism.

Yes. An enormous difference between "this is where my body likes it" weight and "this is where I would like my body".
