I spoke with an estate agent today, and he said that if I want to rent a flat they will have to do an international credit check since I've only been in the UK for a year. What does that mean, exactly? Will I have to give them my Social Security number? Does anyone have experience with this? It's going to cost £125, so I want to be sure I know what's going on.
