I think that the answer is - it might.
We too have a nice flatscreen LG purchased in the last 18 months and are getting ready to head back to the States. Our electrical engineer friend confirmed that going from Uk to US electricity is no biggie since our TV is clearly marked that it is compatible with 100-240V (check the backside of the TV for the silver label). So step one might be checking for that.
I think that the trickier bit is reception. I don't think that over-the-air broadcast signals will work, and a cable hookup might require some kind of converter (and I know nothing about satellite TV). DVD and newer game consoles should be fine to plug in without issues, though. For example, we brought our US Wii to the UK and have no problems with running it on our UK TV and didn't have to buy new connection cables.
Happy to hear any other info, though!
