I don't know if I'm really worried or really upset. My best friend/bridesmaid is flying for my wedding this Saturday. She was to get here yesterday afternoon and I am picking her up on the way back to my home town. Except no one has seen/heard from her since she left australia. There are pics shes tagged in on facebook of her saying bye to her frends there and getting ready to go through security.

If I contact immigration, will they tell me if she entered the country?

She said she was going to email me the phone number of the guy (ex boy friend) picking her up from the airport and her flight info. but she never did.I know she flew from Australia to califoria then had more connections to get to Tennessee.

I've called three mutual friends and none of them have heard from her. I've messaged people on fb and none of them have heard from her. Her father died years ago and her mom has mental illness/is homeless.

I doubt immigration would tell you anything.  You or someone she is related to probably needs to report her as a missing person.

Oh no!  I'm sorry that you're having to deal with this stressful situation just days before your wedding.

I'm hoping that everything is fine.  I'm not sure if Immigration would be able to help you at all.  You could try the airline, but they might not give very much information...just whether her flight landed or not, but you can always call to find out, it certainly can't hurt!

Was her ex-boyfriend picking her up in Tennessee?  You could also try to see if the airline will tell you whether she was on her connecting flights, or whether there were any complications with any of her layovers.  (Perhaps they were overbooked, and she took whatever bonuses they were throwing at her, to take the next flight out?) In any case, I would have expected a phone call or something...(But maybe her phone is dead, and can't find her charger, because they lost her luggage....Bad things always come in 3's, remember?!)

I hope everything's fine, it's probably just a simple mix up, and she'll be ready to walk down the aisle with you on Saturday. :)  Stay positive, but if too much time passes, you could find out about doing a "missing persons report"--check with the police on how to file one though, as I'm not sure which police department you would have to contact (California? Tennessee? Cities where she had connections??)

Hopefully someone else on here has better advice/more experience with travel horrors!
Good luck!

She doesn't really have any family- her dad died when we were 12 and her mom is multiple mental illnesses and is homeless. I'm listed as her next of kin/emergency contact on everything.

She told me her flight was getting in at around 1pm yesterday. It's 1pm here. She was flying into Nashville -her hometown. I am  in Memphis and the wedding is in Knoxville. I do know what airline she was flying- if I don't hear from her I'll stop at the airport in Nashville on my way to Knoxville and see if they will tell me anything.

She and her ex broke up because she moved away. They are still good friends and she stays with him whenever she is in town.

I've called every number listed for her exs name in the phone book. None of them were the right guy.

Does anyone know a number I would call if I did try to contact immigration? I'm on my iPhone and only have 25% battery left!

An she has her USA cell phone cut off before she left for Australia (she was on a bunac visa). I've tried calling it and someone else now has that number. She had a pay as you go phone while in Australia. I just tried call it and got aessage saying it was cut off

I'd probably start with the Nashville Airport Police.  They'll be able to get more information out of the airlines (confirming that she landed) than you will.

Hopefully she's just, um, busy with the ex boyfriend and not thinking that you're frantic with worry.

I'm picking her up in three hours. Or at least was scheduled to. But she never let me know when or where.

If she's ok I'm going to be furious!!!

Thanks for the link!

The airlines wouldn't tell me anything, but I checked with the airport police and they were able to check. There was no record of her landing yesterday afternoon.

Perhaps she missed her connecting flight out of California?

No record of her landing in Cali or in Tennessee?

If she never made it to the US you need to call the airport police in the Australian city she would have departed from and have them see if she ever made her flight and if she didn't report her as a missing person.

Oh man, I was really hoping for a flaky friend who went off with her ex and forgot to call.  That's really scary and I'm sorry for your worry.

Were they able to identify the flight she should have been on?  And the airline?  Because the airline could trace backward and see if she boarded any of her flights, at the request of the police, of course.

I hope this turns out to be just a stupid travel nightmare story.   :-\\\\
