Wide Egg Noodles?
« on: March 02, 2003, 10:53:04 PM »
Does anyone have any idea where I can get those wide egg noodles? I have this desire to make a tuna/peas/cream of chicken soup/egg noodle concoction, and I don't think this durum wheat pasta will cut it. Any suggestions! Thanksssss

Don't know about *wide* egg noodles, I do know that Amoy  makes real egg noodles; I have only seen thread noodles though.  They are fully cooked and are ready to eat in 2 minutes (he reads from the packet).  I hope this helps.

I think I bought them at Sainsbury's.

mmm....i LOVE those cream soup casseroles!!

i've bought wide egg noodles from sainsbury's, which i found in the pasta section. i think there's only 1 or 2 brands of it. the noodles are not the long ones, though.

i've been desperate enough to cook lasagna noodles and slice them in thirds :)

good luck!
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.

I've found thin, medium and wide egg noodles at Tesco and Asda, and I've ordered them online from Sainsburys.  In the shops, they are often with the asian/indian foods, I've found.  (Right near where any Mexican food might be found as well more often than not.)

You might want to look for an international food shop. We have one near us, and although it is only a small store it has noodles I never even knew existed. And Hershey bars !! [smiley=heart.gif]

Thanks belatedly for everyone's suggestions and tips! I eventually found some short wide egg noodles at Marks & Sparks, and they did fine.
