Well, the bus trip was a relatively painless experience.
Of course, everyone (but over-anxious me
)
knew it would be, right? ~~sigh~~
I got into town a little bit early so I could get a cup of coffee (a mocha latte, if anyone cares, LOL) to calm my nerves (first time I've bought anything on my own here, too). I sat and sipped my warm beverage, then I walked up to the factory where Jamie works to meet him. He had gotten the time wrong.
He thought we were supposed to be there at 12:00 when, in reality, our appointment was for 12:30. So....we waited....LOL....with me getting increasingly more anxious as time passed (yeah, I do have issues...at least I admit them). At last it was our turn, and the Registrar greeted us with a smile. He took us into the little room and put me at ease pretty much right away. He had a great sense of humour and was just generally delightful. He had never seen a birth certificate or divorce papers like mine, but he never seemed exasperated or annoyed. He is used to processing foreign identification. He told us that the couple right before us the groom was of Spanish nationality and the bride was Chinese. So, this wasn't new to him. It was, all in all, a pleasant experience.
After taking all of our info and printing out the papers that both Jamie and I had to sign, he then took us into the ceremony room and told us where we would sit and how the ceremony would go. He was great, he made us both feel so relaxed and like everything was going to be a piece of cake. Easy....well, now, isn't THAT refreshing. After so much being so difficult, having something be easy is such a major relief.
Soooooo....anyway....
YAY! YAY! YAY, and also a big, fat, hairy, mega YAY!!!
