Yes, you can start a poll; it's on the right-hand side where the tabs are located on the board's main screen labeled 'post a new poll'.

This has been a topic that can heat up as I have seen BUT in my opinion I have actually 3 homes...

My home where I live with my DH (where the heart is)
My parents home as it will always be there for me (where my family is)
Austin Texas - No family but all friends and where I "grew" up as an adult by myself and THAT is home as well.

Depends on the context on which you are speaking.  If said to DH let's head home he would know I meant here in the UK.  If I said oh I am homesick and I need a visit he would know I meant Texas BUT if I said I need to go home to visit mom he would know its NJ.

People can argue with me but honestly I know my 1st home is with DH and our family here but I will always have another home and I am the kid.

Home is here in the UK with DH, in our house.  Where I grew up, that home is done now - my parents & my grandparents are all deceased & their houses have long been sold.  My brothers still live in the US, but their homes are not my home.  I moved around a lot between the ages of 18-39, and was never really sure what to call home during that period (although I liked Tampa Bay, FL an awful lot - for the weather & the people I knew there).  Finally, it's just nice to be home.  I waited a long time for it!  :)

In a practical sense, home is where my stuff is. It's where my clothes and everything for my day to day life are. Home is what I call the place where my favorite tea mug resides.  I've moved something like 10 times in the past 6 or 7 years which is how this sense of 'home' developed for me.

That said, as long as my parents are still living in the house I grew up in, I'll probably still think of that as home in some abstract way as well.  I haven't lived there since I was 19, but there's still that sense that if something doesn't work out I can go back there.  I'm sure once they're gone or that house is gone or both, I'll just have my first definition of home.

See I think everyones has a different take pending on their life.

Me - I literally moved every 2 years up until the age 16 THEN I stayed with my mom till 18 then carried on the moving every 2 years until I was 22 and went back to NJ and stayed there until I up and moved to Texas on my own at the age of 26.  I stayed in Texas for almost 8 years before moving here.  So my parents aka my mom and stepdads house is a safe place "home" and Texas just felt like home as I did it all on my own and I own a house there still but I think once I sell that it will just be a great visiting destination.  I do know the place I live in is home but its not our house - make sense? We didn't pick this place together so yes it is home and I am happy with it for now but we know we will pick out our home next year.

Home is here in UK, where I live with DH, for sure. So when people sometimes ask me, "When do you think you will go home again?" (meaning a trip to the US) I just say after work and smile. Or if they ask "Where's home?" (as in, where are you from?) I always answer just around the corner.  :P I'm sure they love my sarcasm, but honestly... that's my home.

Dallas will always be my hometown, and it's great to visit, but I am far happier living here than I was there. My heart is here with DH, so this is home to me.

Home is Scotland. Sometimes when people meet me and hear my accent they say, 'Where's home?' and I say, 'Cupar.' I've felt at home in Scotland since I first came here, and even when I go to new places within Scotland I don't really feel like a tourist. I definitely feel like a tourist when I go to England, Wales or Ireland, and when I go to my old home in America I just feel like a stranger with deja vu :P

After this weekend, DF now means Doody-Foot!  ;D  (as in 'Who's got the Doody-Foot?!')

ETA:  That is just in my world, though...not on the forum.  :P

for me home is here - where I am. If I lived in the states that would be home, it's where I've settled for the moment and will change when I move again.
