Hi,
Sounds like a good idea for pub talk!
As always, there's much more to it than just that. From the one point mentioned, in order to 'Citizen Exchange' you have to relinquish all rights to your former citizenship. If you later decide to go back, then either wait till the same exchange opportunity comes up or go through the usual processes. By product of all that would be some crazy amounts of paperwork and red tape!
Last time I looked, If you invest $500,000 in a deprived area nominated by the US government, open a business, employ local US citizens, have a business plan to grow the business and employ more US citizens, you'll be given an immediate Green card along with your immediate family. It's not as simple as 'having $500,000' - the US government want you to GROW that money and put it to good use for the economy - which makes perfect sense to me.
Also, there is Walmart in the UK, they took over & bought the Asda chain of stores some years back.
Also, many Americans (and non americans!!!) want to move to 'London' - they semi vaguely know that's in England, but most have no real idea there's many more towns and cities here in the UK!
Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!
