I live in the 'ness as well  ;D

Are you going to Inverness College then?  You should be able to meet all kinds of folks of all kinds of ages.  Many don't believe that Inverness has it all, since we're in the North Pole and backwards up here, hehehe, :P, but we're a thriving town with a great music scene, lots of nice pubs ,excellent resturants, and sheep, yay sheep!,  and wilderness on the doorstep, so lots of hill walking and outdoor stuff to do.

I have been able to find friends really easily, there's so much going on around here, I'm involved in tons of stuff and everyone is so friendly!

I didn't have a car (I still don't) so I was strictly a BART girl. But I think coming out of the tunnel, looking at the bay, on a sunny day is one of the better views around. Going towards Marin on the Richmond Bridge is another :o)

Woo hoo- another Los Gatos gal.  I just saw this and realized we're hometown twins.  ;D

I also lived in the Central Valley for 5 years so I feel your pain about the heat.  The South Bay is having some of the coolest days in a while, so I'm actually currently wearing a sweater. :)

Welcome, and best luck in Scotland.

Ta! We're about the same age - did you go to Fisher? I went to a private HS but I still have my Fisher year book.

All my friends in the Bay Area are complaining about how cold it is - the coolest summer in 40 years I heard - but I'm doing one big happy dance 'cause in the central valley it's been averaging in the 90s (upper 30s C) instead of the 100s (lower 40s C).

I'm so going to get back to Scotland and freeze my patootie off :o)

!!! So it snowed and snowed and snowed this last winter, right? Neighbors I'd never met would stop me in the street to tell me it was my fault. I tried to explain that I was from a place where it _never_ snows and they reply that it was because I "wanted to see snow."

I think it was the snowman that tipped them off ;o)

I went to Los Altos High and Union for middle school, so I actually never went to an LG school technically.  It has only been chilly here at night- it's gorgeous in the daytime!!!  Today especially.  :)

It was definitely a crazy winter and it was sleeting/freezing rain well into late May!
