I can't find a UK deodorant that I like here! None of them seem to work as well as Secret does, nor do they smell as nice! I usually bring a load of them back with me, but I have run out!!

Ha, you know what, this was one of the things that annoyed me when I was in the UK.  I'm used to the wall of 5000 deodorants at Target.  I felt like in the UK 95% of everything I saw was a roll-on..  I don't like those at all, ew.

So I've picked out a few here in the US to bring to school with me in the fall.  I'm still amazed at the incredible selection here.  So many different kinds and scents!

Another one here who stocks up on Secret.  There's just some things you can't give up!  I also load up on Noxema and cherry Chapstick, which I always keep an eye out for but have only seen the original kind (and it was £1.50 for one stick, not cheap).  I know I will be victorious on the Chapstick one day, though.  :P

We have lots of different Chapsticks on sale in our Boots store (currently £1.19 each or two for £2) - the Boots website has Chapstick in Cherry, Original, Strawberry, Apple, Soothing Medicated, Blister SPF 35 and Lip Moisturiser.

Evidence that I will be victorious!  ;) Thanks! They just expanded a Boots into 2 levels in the city centre here.  I'll have to venture over and see if they might carry a couple more flavours now.  All the tiny ones stick to the original or just carry Carmex!

Ohhh, the Target deodorant wall! *commencing Target fantasies...*  :P

But yes, I have an issue with roll-on deodorant, too. It doesn't make sense to me why you would put something wet under your arms to prevent wetness!

I picked up some Dove whilst in the states a few weeks ago and will be requesting more for my mum to ship to me for my birthday. How sad is it when your birthday request is stick deodorant (and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish)?!

You can get Dove solid at Boots, Tesco, Waitrose... most UK places, really.  I'm glad cuz it's what I used in the states as well.

Just out of curiosity, when you all say "stock up"---how many sticks does that mean?  I never really paid attention to how much deodorant I go though, since it's always readily available...

I've already started stocking up on Secret deodorants by just buying them when they're on a really good sale, so my "collection" is only 2 unopened sticks.  How long would that last the average user?  I can't seem to recall the lifespan of a stick of deodorant....

The Tesco near me only has the original scent in Dove solid, which is fine, but I do like a bit of choice. I'll have to look at a different shop. It really must just be the Tesco I go to - the selection there is particularly strange!

I started using Dove Solid in the UK recently - I didn't think I got along with stick deodorants because when I lived in the US a few years ago, I used one and it gave me an allergic reaction. However, when I went travelling earlier this year, I picked up a miniature Dove stick deodorant in Target (it was the only travel-sized deodorant they had) and it worked really well, with no allergic reaction. When I got back home, I decided to give the UK one a try - so far, no reactions to it, but I don't find it works quite as well as the US one.

Dove is the only deodorant that doesn't make me break out.  I haven't noticed any differences between US and UK sticks.  Even if I did, it wouldn't matter, I don't dare try anything else.  Itchy pits are not cool :P

I just found that the US Dove worked really well - better than any other deodorant I've tried before, but the UK stick doesn't seem to protect quite as well as the US one did.
